Feeling energetic this morning despite the increased pain. :-/ Not drugged like yesterday, and no more fainting after the one time. (Which I don't want to repeat, thanks). It scared the living daylights out of mom. They think it was dehydration-- considering I hadn't had anything to eat or drink for like.... 19 hours, plus all the drugs and such. They put the IV in the middle of my arm, so now I've got this weird bruise and it rather hurts. Grrr. They said they sent one bit off for biopsy, but didn't see much. Everything else came out normal on the bloodwork and such, so....
Picked cherries off the neighbor's tree for an hour this morning and got a HUGE (seriously) mixing bowl's worth. Definitely enough for 2 pies-- I make a pie (or 2) for payment for the cherries. (even though they wouldn't have had time to pick them anyways) Need to make the pie crust and prep these before tomorrow AM when I need to pick more.
The lavender plants need a second cutting. I'll have to do it tomorrow AM before the shade goes away.
Mowed the lawn without being asked. Mom will be real pleased.
Had phone interview with Microsoft for another position. At this point, am kinda meh. She said they'd let me know if they wanted a face to face. I'm not expecting anything, although I did like the sound of this one much better than the second one but not as much as the first one. :-/
Showering first, then heading off in search of a cherry pitter (no WAY would I get this done without it... yipes) and a citrus juicer of some sort since my other one broke (like practically all my other toys) when I came home to make a favorite of a friend who had major surgery on his foot recently.
I have the farm this weekend! Yay!
State of the garden:
Picked some of the green beans. Growing fantastically.
Still don't know what to do with the mutants that are the walla wallas.
1st wave carrots coming along quite nicely still, and 2nd wave *maybe* beginning to sprout and show signs of life.
Mezclun starting to show signs of leaf patterns and progressive growth.
Out of control pumpkin is now up to 3 'survivors'-- it's sprouted about 7 or 8 possible 'fruits' but the seem to survive in a 1:1 ratio. The oldest one is getting BIG, albeit in an oblong way-- oddly enough, these seem to not be the fat and round type. Oh well. The smaller plant is dying, I suspect due to the bigger one choking it out. It's taken over parts of the lawn.
Zucchini growing leaps and bounds. The smaller one is still fighting, lots of blossoms.
Tomoatoes starting to ripen. Yesterday there were 3 that were ripe that were TINY. Smaller than pencil erasers. One of the yellow pears is FINALLY ripening.
