These were my parting words to the guild earlier today following a debate with one of its members over the fairness of my actions in leaving. I will not go into detail here as I plan on chronicleing it on my website in the form of a rant.
I will, however, bring up some of the finer points as I doubt all of you read my rants, or go to my site for that matter. Roleplaying has reinstilled my addiction to World of Warcraft thanks to the much more open social atmosphere. I've always enjoyed talking to people (though it may not seem it from my everyday behavior) and now I have a great place in which to do all kinds of talking with people around the globe. Essentially WoW is my chatroom. Even when not playing I stay logged in so I can occasionally see if anyone I know is on and/or saying anything. There are (were) some really nice people in this guild I had joined. That said the leader of the entire guild was not only immature and disagreeable, but, as it turns out, corrupt. Not exactly the guy you want in charge of items you donated after gathering them for hours. So one of the higher ups, having also been suspicious before, and learning for sure now that the leader was corrupt in his ways declared secession (an idea Alex and I had actually been toying with lightly in case the leader turned out really bad). As such, and furthermore feeling morally obligated, we gladly joined the kindly councilman that was leaving. There was an interesting debate with one of the members that followed that ended in the above quote from me after discussing our right to act without directly confronting the leader.
That said we are now a bit of a renegade guild with a fun little history that ties us who started it together. I was relatively happy with the other one (right up to the corruption) but now we essentially have the same thing minus the rabble, and it looks very promising. The leader is an incredibly polite and nice guy.
The other thing from the upcoming rant I'll mention here is that for the first time I actually feel some level of kinship/comradery with people met solely online. Just an odd new thing I didn't foresee. It's a good time, and has reminded me I need to get on to writing a rant about the internet as a means to achieving man's most basic desires (as according to existentialist philosophy).
Other than that check out my site for updates, whether I get a rant up or not I WILL update the bastard today with some of my finer work from figure drawing.
