On step 9, there's no layer mode. Just thought I'd point that out. :-)

I didn't write layer mode because it's the same like on step 8 - burn.

Mine too,what you can do is to multiply your base at %100 or maybe less and then in step 7 instead of "fill it with #b0f8bd set to burn %100" you can try at %50 or less or more,again,it depends on your base.very good tut,by the way.
