just lovely
So Mike and I were driving up to athabasca to see my parents on christmas eve, when all of a sudden all of my warning lights go on and start flashing at the same time. so of course, i immediatly pull over and turn off the car. i thought it was just the oil problem i was having before, so i jump out a look for some oil. I couldn't find any, so i decide to let the car cool off and then try to limp it the rest of the way to my mum's, but it didn't turn on. so i phoned my dad, and he came out and took a look at it. remember this is in the evening, so it's pitch dark out there. he manages to get it started, and gets me to drive his truck behind him, with the 4 ways on, while he tries to get it home. Not even a km away, all this smoke and steam comes billowing out from under the hood, and this horrible stench is wafting into the truck. so dad pulls over and pops the hood. immediately ALL this crazy steam comes BILLOWING out from the engine, and we can't even see the goodamn mechanics under the hood! the engine coolant is actually bubbling (boiling over) and when i pull out the dipstick, it's actually smoking. gahd!! so we leave it there for the night, and actually manage to get someone to tow it to the nearest garage on christmas day.
god knows whats wrong with it. dad thinks it is either the water pump siezed, or the head gasket failed. at best....another $600.oo to repair....at worst, well... i don't want to think about it.
anyway, the point of all this is that dad thinks i should get another vehicle. mine has over 300,000 km on it. *sigh* thats alot of km for a north american car. but i don't want to let go. have any of you met the buick?? it is a DAMN fine vehicle. lux-ur-ee!
so i am sad. i don't want to get another car. i have only had the Riv. for 3 years!
But dad is insisting that i start looking.
on a side note: King Kong was excellent! the graphics were amazing and i cried like a little girl at the end. also! there were dinosaurs! you CAN'T go wrong!
