So I don't think I'm completely prepared for this port. I already know I won't be dressed for it. But I've gotten to glance at more modern locales than my own since coming here, just never anyplace as big as people say New York City is ( Read more... )

I'd offer you some of my clothes, but I think they'd be too short on you.

I would recommend the tourist thing, even if it's going to be really crowded at this time of year. There's an amazing tree in Rockerfeller Center, and ice skating below it. There's also stories like FAO Schwartz that are just plain fun.

And you may like the Seaport. I think they have Tall ships there.

The water's probably not too fun a place to be if it's going to be really cold, though.

This is true, and the wind'll probably be an issue. It tends to be a bit vicious because of the tall buildings.

There are many that are eight or a hundred stories. Some that are more. The skyline's a bit breathtaking. The best building's the Empire State Building, I think. You can go up to the top of it and see for miles. I'd never been when the Twin Towers were standing, but they were even higher than Empire State.

I know at Rockerfeller Center, where the tree is, you can go to the "Top of the Rock" and have a look around. I've never been, myself.
