i left my heart in NYC

Mar 22, 2005 21:45

hi! i am so exhausted! i got back from NYC late last night. i slept til 1:30 this afternoon, and I'll most likely go to bed early tonight. we had so much fun! i went with jason, his sister, and her friend. we did so much...the Met museum, Times Square, China Town, Rockefeller Center, and other things. The best thing would had to have been ice skating at Rockefeller Center. While waiting for the rink to open, Jason and I went and sat in the St. Patrick's Cathedral. It is the most beautiful church I have ever seen. If I lived up there, I would go to church all the time. So then we skated, and it so fun. We only fell once. That was yesterday, our last day. I did NOT want to leave. I felt like an adult for the first time, being so far away from home on my own. And it was wierd waking up next to Jason three days in a row. (wierd in a good way, though) I feel closer to him after being together for four days straight. miraculously, we never got sick of each other.
It was awesome seeing Laurel and Dare there at the same time as us, it felt like we weren't that far from home knowing that like 5 of my friends were running around the city while we were there. Jason, Laurel, Dare, and I went to the Improv Comedy Club at around mindnight one night..it was HILARIOUS. I haven't laughed that hard in so long. Do you ever laugh so hard that your stomach tightens up and you can't breathe? Well that's how it was. One of the comedians made fun of Laurel and called her a pussy. that was pretty funny. but, it was all fun and games, so old Laurel wasn't hurt.
We shopped like little shits. I felt so bad for Jason, he had to watch 3 girls shop for like 6 hours. Poor kid.
The Met was alright, it was interesting, but I could never spend more than a couple hours there. It's not bad when you have someone to make fun of other people with and to make fun of.
Another night we had dinner at this little Italian place in Little Italy. The area was so pretty! It had dangling white lights in the street and tons of little restaurants and shops. Our waiter was cool, he serenaded me. Gave J a run for his money.
There was a killer billboard in Times Square of Jenna Jameson's new porn flick, Krystal Method, so be on the lookout for that. I took a picture of it.
We also did Central Park, and the Carousel in it. We were practically the only ones on it. I like doing things that make me feel like a kid again.
The downside to the city is that everyone is always rushing. Most of the restaurants and pretty much everyone alive there is hurrying and stressed, so they are impatient and rude. I hated that. I hate it when people aren't polite, so I don't think I could ever get used to a city full of rude people.
But what I love most about NY is you never know what to expect. We saw random music groups singing and dancing in the street and sax players and rap videos being filmed and a ton of gay couples. You can walk out of your hotel and find a great restaurant within 10 minutes, or just walk around the whole night looking at all the wierdos. It's always exciting!
All in all, the trip was amazing. It's a great feeling being on your own and not having anyone telling you what to do; going to bed as late as you want, and getting up as late as you want. I also feel like I stepped out of teenage-hood being with my boyfriend for 4 days and nights, doing whatever we wanted and not having to worry about parents or being home at a certain time. It makes me so fucking excited for college I can't even think about it.
