Will's name for his stuffed dog sounds almost Aztec. Maybe he's secretly a genius with a full grasp of language and culture, and he's just pretending for our benefit. Except then he does things like fall headfirst off the slide, hahaha. Such a boy...
I like the weird balloon tentacles on the parade guys. I never thought King Cake looked all that tasty, and hiding babies inside kind of weirds me out. But I think if it was filled with chocolate it would be good.
I'm glad you ended up having a fun birthday and Valentine's! Honestly, I really enjoy cliche gifts like flowers and chocolate for Valentine's and flowers and jewelry for our anniversary. Probably because I never get that stuff for myself.

Oh yeah, you can't see the balloon guys' faces cause I was slow taking a picture, but they're all wearing bird masks. So I think they're supposed to be colorful tail-feathered birds.
I can agree with you about there being a place for cliche gifts. Actually I enjoy the cliche non-personal gifts of hand soap and lotion and cosmetics/toiletries for the same reason of not liking to buy it for myself, and enjoying what other people like/getting to sample without having to buy my own.
