Workout Rambling, and Stuff

Well, I did my final camp gladiator workout today. It was raining, and it was the trainer who everyone considers the hardest, so he had us sprinting in the rain and running and doing bear crawls up the hill which was covered with running water and mud and slippery leaves, so good thing no one slipped and got injured. I was thinking that was more ( Read more... )

Uhhhhhh, people like that are so difficult. Especially when you have to talk to them regularly (because they're coworkers, etc.) The interesting thing about Heidi's type of people, I've noticed, is that they seem to never pick up on your "I don't want to talk about this/Please change the subject" vibes. I have people like that at work and these days I just blatantly ignore them or don't answer when they start going off, and they still don't notice. If I were you, I would just stay out of it altogether and try not to take anything she says too seriously. But I hate it when people like that say little poisonous things because then it colors the way you see the people they're gossiping about, whether you want it to or not. The military is TERRIBLE in that respect.

Haha, your old bishop goes to girls nights with other girls? That's hilarious. I'm really curious about that drawing book now. Would you say it made you better at drawing overall?

Congratulations on finishing Camp Gladiator! It feels so good when you get an exercise routine down. If I were you, I'd make a list of all the reasons why you're happy you worked out so that if you get back out of the habit, you can remind yourself why you spent the effort. We should still do a race or half marathon some day.

A three minute plank is super good! I can rarely get past a minute and a half.

Colds always ruin my appetite, too. In fact, with this last one I was so sick I just felt too nauseous and generally awful to eat. I lost seven pounds overall, and then gained three back when I got better. Still a net loss, though, so hooray!

I didn't take the time to do the exercises, but I mentally went through them and I think that did improve my drawing, though I still have to prove it by finding time to draw again and see. I do recommend it though. If nothing else you can just skim it; it's well organized for being able to jump around to headings and exercises.
