B-Movies

There's many many companies out there that distribute bad horror movies on video. A few of which I know of that have openly accept submissions for distribution. I had a weird idea. What if I make a bad horror movie and have a small company distribute it, then I use whatever little money I might get selling the distribution right to make Next Exit? I had this idea, somewhat inspired by Grindhouse, that instead of trying to make a good horror movie with nothing and having it turn out shitty, what if I just actually make it shitty, but funny, in that accidental Ed Wood kind of way. But instead of speanding 20 million dollars to make a movie look like it was made for tens of thuosand of dollars, but I spend literally nothing at all to make a movie that's supposed to look like it was made for nothing at all? I thought of making it like an old '50s chiller movie, with flying saucers, zombies, and a lot of bad special effects and acting.

I think I could literally spend next to nothing on it, and it would work. In some short films, my friends and I have carried on an inside joke of intentional continutiy errors. I could take al these intentional mistakes and really push them to a ridiculous extreme, and if there's anything that actually is accidentally bad, no one would know the difference. I figure, if I'm going to go through the effort of making a feature film for nothing that no one will see, I might as well do somethign creative, and turn it into a joke. I could probably make the thing in a few days if I did it Ed Wood style: one take at everything, stock footage, and scenes that go back in forth from night to day. I think it would be a fun way of getting my feature filmmaking feet wet, so to speak, and create something amusing that I wouldn't be completely ashamed of. it sounds like a crazy idea: having no money to make a feature film, and making a feature film, and selling the distribution rights so I can fund a good movie. It's just so crazy it might work, assuming it gets distributed. But if these distributors would pick up "Killjoy 2" then maybe I have a shot. Plus, if I make it for nothing, then I have nothing to lose except a little bit of time, and I know it would be fun to make anyway.
