A subconscious chip installed at the back of your skull

I've been observing people lately, specifically: how people depend so much on the technology.

I'm actually afraid about the outcome of the future, wherein people would have less and less interaction. Everything is just a matter of tapping touchscreens or tapping your keyboards out loud -- it's like everything is one tap away (even furniture). Maybe in the future, with the lack of interaction that people will create in their daily lives, you have to tap people -- using a device -- just to talk to them.

With my eyes scanning the people around me, all I see are monochrome gadgets that were once colorful (old colored skin Nokia phones that would make you cool once you have them, flip phones from Japan that were once "in," slide phones from Samsung and Nokia that were creatively done, tiny touchscreen phones that once you have them these days, your are so late with the new developed huge ass touchscreen phones), are used all the time.

And when I mean all the time, I literally mean it. When you go to social gatherings (birthday celebrations, reunion, etc.), all you see are people never abandoning their phones, looking for WiFi to abandon the celebration itself and check out the latest updates about people or other events. Don't you find that a little rude? Or if you go to a little hangout with friends, all I see are friends who barely talk to each other, but rather talk to people who are in their phones -- tweeting or texting -- or check the latest update and again, abandoning the said hangout. Why did you even bother to go there if you won't leave your phone and rather hangout with the people you are hanging out with? Don't you find it a little unsettling? Even in your own house, family dinners turn into something that's not what it is like before, talking to your family members without gadgets beside your plate. It angers me when a single beep from my sister's phone makes her stop eating and rather enjoy what's in store for her in that gadget of hers than enjoy our presence. Are your homes like that too? Because if not, then I applaud you and your family.

Unfortunately, I, myself, is affected by these situations. For every celebration I go to, I couldn't abandon my phone but nonetheless, I try to avoid abandoning the event. During hangouts, I'm bothered by the fact that the people I'm with would rather look at their phones than try catching up with me or with the others, so I try to abandon my phone (in the end, I would forget where I place it) and try to talk to them with my talkative mouth. In the house, I leave my phone in my room and eat with the family and not think of the updates from twitter or other networking sites.

People tend to forget the essence of interaction using their mouths. They tend to forget to express themselves naturally, than tweeting or writing a status with a boring face plastered on their faces. There maybe videos and stories that would make your laugh or cry, but what about the actual presence of an actual person by your side? These is why people think they lonely and alone, but they never make an effort to communicate themselves with other people. Because the actual emotions are not there. You tweet, you post blogs, you vlog, you put up a status on Facebook and other social networking sites, but where is the actual feeling?

I couldn't agree more to the fact that the internet can be the cause of depression and loneliness. (Though sometimes it can be the cause of happiness because of your favorite idol or whatever). But what about your friends whom you keep telling that you treasure them, but then, forgets when you're in the presence of the internet?  Though let's face it, it's like almost everything revolves around the internet. Isn't that a bit sad?

The world is a busy place with new innovations and inventions showing up out of the blue. Those would be in need of employment and the next thing you would know, mass of people would be so busy that they won't have time for people -- even for themselves. People would create a certain routine, certain rules to make the world function; though, dictated. With all the technologies lately, it would determine who would be on top, and the next thing you would know, there will be one nation who will rule the world and everyone would follow them (even against their will). Isn't that scary? What if the "prophecy" of inserting a chip at the back of your skull would come true? It's not impossible (I saw a news that could control you using brain waves crap, whatever. And a news about something that is placed on the top of your hand). You wouldn't want that, right?

Some of the people would not agree to what I am saying, but what concerns me the most is the lack of human interaction that people is developing over time.

How about you, what do you think about technology?

personal, technology, internet
