i think i just had the best weekend ever.
brian and i left ny friday morning and got into boston around 1. he drove, i slept, that worked out great for me. i can't believe i forgot my camera=(.
we got in just in time to try on tuxes and for some basketball. finally met aj. after all these years and all these lj entries, i met the legend himself. played ball w/ the legend, grant, brian, james, phil, matt, wing and myself. phils definitely a baller. cleaned up in time for the rehearsal. learned what we were supposed to do for the ceremony and went to the rehearsal dinner. great dinner. ate like a pig. 3 big tables in our. i had the roast duck. chatted and ate for a long time=). so nice=).
saturday was the big day. we woke up around 10(actually i did, everyone else woke up earlier) and got ready. worked on the toast a bit more and then went to qdoba for a burrito. came back and got dressed. i was so pumped for the wedding, i even put some styling gel in my hair(not that it woulda made any difference). we got dressed as the photographer came and snapped pics of us in various manners of dress and undress. we headed to the harvard inn for more pics. the ceremony was awesome(even tho one of my tux buttons fell off). never saw wing so happy in my life.
jen was beautiful, the bridesmaids(ellen, vicki, yayu, karen, kerry and wing ning) were beautiful(i'll leave us groomsmen outta this), the ceremony was beautiful, the weather was beautiful, the crowd that showed up was beautiful. ok i'm making myself sick here, i'll stop. i almost gave the minister my tux button instead of the rings(i put my broken button in the pocket w/ the rings). other then that and tearing up a bit, everything went awesome during the ceremony. finally met joy and mike(while i was following wing and jen down the aisle)=). after a few years of messaging joy on aim, finally got to meet her. like aj, she exceeded all expectations=). met up w/ the arcadia bunch(brian, joon, eunice, jon, rich, cat(she looked great as usual), munchie, all showed up). great seeing them again.
the reception was amazing. it was at the fogg museum across the street from the church. great place for a reception. here's where i started to get nervous. brian started me off w/a jack and coke(only had half) then onto a white wine and then another. walked around and chatted w/ people. jen's dad gave a great speech over shrimp salad. joey let out a huge guffaw during wing's dad speech(joon talked bout how at his wedding, his dad talked bout kimchi for 15 minutes for his speech and joey cracked up).
ellen, joey, brian and myself each toasted wing and jen in our own special way(there's were so much more polished than mine. i was so nervous, i left out lotsa stuff i wanted to say. i also forgot to bring my glass up to toast the couple, so i borrowed jen's glass to toast them. i toasted them and walked away w/ her glass. then realized that i took her glass, and had to walk back and return it in front of everyone. sigh, i'm such a dumbbutt).
the food was great and the music was great. (man it's hard writing an entry w/ toy story going on in the background(to infinity and beyond!)). by the time all the dancing started, i was buzzed(funny how i kept saying "i'm really not drunk!" all nite to anyone that would listen). drank some more wine and then some more whiskey(i don't think open bars and me really mix). a few shots were done before "it's getting hot in here" and a coupla shots after. ya i was definitely buzzed. i ended up w/ my vest unbuttoned, tie hanging out my back pocket and half my dress shirt open(i think mosta it was unbuttoned by joey and/or kent). probably danced w/ everyone except wing and jen's parents(only a slight exagerration). lotsa pics were taken, i hope i don't look as bad as i think i looked(also hope all the pics are posted soon). speaking of pics, natgdawwc finally got together(too bad brian and i weren't really sober).
what a blast. hope wing and jen do this all over again next year. same place, same time, same people(and maybe next time, my speech will be a little better). went back to joey's exhausted but happy.
sunday was the picnic. noch's steak and cheese and then some singing, frisbee and football. then went home w/ jeff, josiah and brian. i guess that was the weekend in a nutshell and a half. now is when i really want a rewind and slo-mo button so i can replay the entire weekend again and again.
amazing weekend. so many people from everywhere were brought together to celebrate this special event. i kinda came outta my shell this weekend and let myself go a bit w/out thinking bout what's going on at school. i'll be on this high for the next year. i ate well, got to see people i love, had fun, made a fool of myself, but best of all i got to see wing and jen happier than i ever thought possible. congrats again=) i love you guys.
