Author's note: Following the publication of Remus Lupin's bio, I wanted to write a story that would take them from Dumbledore's death to the wedding in Scotland (and a little beyond), and be in sympathy with the information contained in it. That is, that they had a year of 'increasingly warm friendship', followed by nearly a year of 'barely speaking', about certain matters at least, until Remus is forced to admit the strength of his feelings. Part II to follow.
