More on today's tragic events

There's nothing I can report on that all of you haven't likely seen on the local news. The local police have the Aurora Mall, which is adjacent to the theater where the shootings happened, shut down entirely. The total dead stands at twelve.

While none of my coworkers were there, it turns out that one of our customers was. "Big Scott", as we call him, had gone to the movie with a few of his coworkers. One of them was wounded, and Scott wasn't sure about the other as they were missing at the time he phoned us. What's worse, is Scott and his coworkers work at the Lowe's close to my house. Because I'm in that store so often getting supplies for Mom's business, these are likely folks I've met at least casually. (fortunately, Scott himself was not injured). Knowing all this makes it hit home just a bit harder. All of my local friends have checked in, and thank goodness none had decided to go to the theater. (we had talked about it)

Lastly, I've been fielding phone calls regarding my welfare all day. It's interesting to know that so many of my friends and relatives know me to be enough of a geek/fanboy to have possibly been at that screening last nite. I'm greatly humbled by everyone's concern.

Hopefully, I can get back to somewhat happier posts. My love and thanks to all who've checked on me, and my greatest condolences go to the families of those hurt or killed last nite. The repercussions from this tragedy are just beginning.
