Normally, I don't spotlight new music here in the vault, but this was too cool to pass up!
Today's musical gem is:
"Move Like This" by The Cars
Yes, you read right, The Cars. Not a pseudo-reformation with one original member like a lot of "back from the dead" bands have foisted on us in recent years, but a genuine, bona-fide reunion with al the original members! (except, of course, the late Benjamin Orr) Even though a lot of 80s acts have resurfaced in recent years, their "new output" hasn't always been up to par with their earlier efforts. "Move Like This" is an exception. From the first track to the last, it's like Rik Ocasek and the guys haven't lost a single step since 1987. All the signature bits that made The Cars what they were are still in place, and sounding remarkably fresh. This is the Cars of old, (i.e., the first four albums), and the album rocks from start to finish. No clinkers here.
Mucho recommended, and if you get it at Best Buy, you get three bonus-tracks and two music vids!
Welcome back guys, you were sorely missed!
