Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing: Natural Caramel Hair Colour + Milbon Grand Linkage Treatment

May 13, 2024 11:06

Hey everyone!

It's that time of the year where my hair annoys me, so I got it fixed at Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing.

Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing is located in Hong Lim Complex, right next to Chinatown MRT Station Exit F.

So glad for the re-opening of Exit F which makes reaching the hair salon a breeze. For the past 3 years, I had to walk a short distance to the salon from another exit, but not anymore!

My hair has gone into a sorry state with the appearance of dark roots, an atrocious amount of grey hairs and stubborn frizz. I've noticed how much of a pudding head I've became, and how 'out of shape' my hair looked. It weighed me down.

But I know that my hairstylist, Ken will always save the day with his trusty recommendations. He knows my hair well over the years and I take his words like gospel. Ken and his staff, Shawn suggested that I go slightly darker for my hair to cover the greys with a natural caramel colour, 7003. Although I prefer warmer and lighter colours, Ken reminded me that my hair colour fades quickly and lighter colours will usually fade to a 'dirty yellow'. Yikes, not pretty at all.

So I went ahead with 7003, which Shawn meticulously applied on every strand of my hair. My hair's generally difficult to work with because it's hella thick but he patiently persisted, so thumbs up for that!

One thing I like about colouring my hair in this salon is how comfortable their hair dyes are. I'm used to conventional hair dyes that emit a strong chemical smell and leave behind a tingling sensation on your scalp. Nonetheless, the hair dyes used in this salon smelled fragrant and felt almost like a hair mask applied on your scalp. It was surprisingly refreshing.

After washing the dye off, Shawn applied Milbon Grand Linkage 3-Step Hair Treatment on me. This treatment promises to strengthen your hair, boost its hydration, reduce frizz and smoothen it. Step 1 was applied during the hair wash, while my hair was coated with Step 2 and Step 3 thereafter.

My hair was placed under a steamer to facilitate absorption of the hair treatment, and it was absolute fun! I felt like I was in sauna enjoying a warm hair spa. The waiting time didn't even matter to me. It was THAT comfortable.

After washing and blow-drying my hair, check out how sleek and smooth my hair looked. I have never been happier to see an even hair colour and frizz-free hair! My split-ends were trimmed and the curls were done temporarily for photos by the way!

I'm starting to appreciate going darker for my hair because it brings attention to my facial features instead of 'stealing the show'. Can't thank Ken and Shawn enough for breathing life into my hair! I felt attractive again!

For maintenance of my hair at home, Ken recommended me their Rinka Kanami Shampoo as well as Treatment, both of which retail in his salon.

The shampoo was lightly scented and had a creamy texture. It worked well in locking moisture in my hair after wash, thereby preventing my hair from frizzing after a blow-dry. As for the treatment, it was a great supplement in hydrating my hair ends and I love its scent more! Besides, I didn't even need to apply the treatment daily because of its prolonged hydrating effects that could last a few days. Love both products!
