Review: Lynn Aesthetic Young & Trendy Detox Facial Treatment

Mar 20, 2019 18:53

Hey people!

Can you believe that it's been 3 months since I did a facial? Time flies when you're busy!

Life's been stressful on the work front so I was very thankful for the opportunity to try out a facial treatment at Lynn Aesthetic - The Nature Spa.

Lynn Aesthetic is located at Block 211, Hougang Street 21 which is within walking distance to Kovan MRT Station. I wouldn't say that it is very near to the station though. The first time I visited the beauty salon, I had to rely on Google Maps, and even then, blur sotong me was still walking in circles trying to locate it.

To get to Lynn Aesthetic, you've got to walk across Kovan Market & Food Centre towards Block 211. It is one of the last units of the block at a secluded corner. You might want to buffer 10 to 15 minutes of walking time if you are visting for the first time.

Do you know that Lynn Aesthetic has been in operations since 33 years ago? It's amazing how long-standing the business is amidst the strong competition from other beauty salons.

After a skin analysis, I learnt that my face is on the dehydrated side so a Young and Detox facial will be beneficial for me. This facial accelerates the metabolism of my skin cells, strengthen my skin barrier and replenishes it with moisture. Beyond facials, Lynn Aesthetic also offers other services such as body massage and slimming.

Two years ago, I visited Lynn Aesthetic as a contest winner to redeem my prize so this was the furthest I've went.

They have a number of treatment rooms on the first level. What I didn't know was that they had MORE treatment rooms on the second level.

My facial therapist, Kerine brought me up the winding staircase to the second level for my facial.

I was told that the second level was dedicated exclusively to female customers and was largely used for body massage and slimming services. Male customers would do their treatments at the first level only.

Wow, their rest area was so cosy and well decorated.

There were also a couple of lockers which I could utilise to store my bag.

They have a theme in every room and mine was a pretty pink Garden Room.

It wasn't just pink walls, pink sheets and a floral printed bed lining but...

An entire ceiling of flowers! This was just the view at one corner of the room.

I couldn't help but commend Lynn Aesthetic for putting in so much effort in the aesthetics of the salon. Plus points for a pleasant customer experience, really!

You know what will make me love the room more? If it was an entire ceiling of glow-in-the-dark stars. *dreamy eyes*

Now for the facial!

I started off with double cleansing and toning before my dead skin cells were exfoliated with a Gommage peel. After a good scrub, I went through the most essential part of facial - extraction.

Kerine shared that my complexion was generally okay, except that I had a dull T-zone and my skin needed more hydration. Extraction around my face was minimal although she did spent a longer time extracting the whiteheads on my nose. She was very meticulous and made sure that my whiteheads were extracted thoroughly, despite my whines and winces over the pain.

After extraction, my bushy eyebrows were plucked and my face was nourished with an oxygenating serum as well as cream.

I also went through a series of relaxing massages for my face, eyes, lips, neck and shoulders. It was comforting to the max. I felt that it helped to lift my energy and rejuvenate my mind too.

The last part of the facial was the best - wearing the cooling soft mask and drifting off to lalaland. Well, I can't help it, can I? If your eyes and lips are fully covered by mask and you can neither see nor speak, you would too.

I thought I was gonna just snooze for 15 minutes in silence but the most surprising thing hapened. With a click of a switch, the bed I was lying on became an electric massage bed. For the next 15 minutes, my sore, post-fitness body was treated to a very relaxing and much needed massage. Mannnn... I wish it lasted longer!

I'm currently at my best stage of my skin life and have little to no blemishes so my skin didn't look very different in the 3 photos above. Nonetheless, I did experienced improvements in my skin texture.

In the 'Before' picture, I might look a tad pale because I went for facial right after working out. In the 'After' picture, my skin felt clean, smooth and hydrated. Over the next few days, I noticed that my skin seemed to absorb products better. My makeup glided on more smoothly as well. I guessed having a clean and smooth canvas really helped.

After my facial, I was served a cup of warm tea and mint candies. I love mints!

My jaw dropped when Kerine told me that Lynn Aesthetic creates their own mint candies for their customers. OH MY GOD, SO MUCH EFFORT! *adds bonus points*

Ending off this entry with a photo of my bubbly beauty therapist, Kerine and me!

Thank you for your hard work and for patiently entertaining me with endless chatter. :D
