Four of my reasonably-available books were not affected at all and can be bought the usual ways. (This is when I'm very relied to have more than one publisher.)
Of the four now out-of-print novels, as far as I can work out, some online bookshops still have a copy of a paperback or two of them. When those copies are sold, though, they're gone.
Given how very thoroughly distribution was mucked up for all these novels (my publisher's distributor is getting a very bad reputation, which can't have helped the bottom line) these are rare and special books and, if ever I get famous (hah!) any one of these novels in this edition are going to be more collectible than anything except the limited editions for specialist groups. There was so much muck-up that my sales numbers were significantly down on their usual.
This means, alas, we're not talking about more than a few dozen still in the wild anywhere. All you can do is go to online shops, look for the paperback, and try to buy. That's the bad news.
The good news is that my erstwhile publisher says that I'll be paid all the royalties for any novels thus sold. My guess is, however, that payments are likely to happen with the least discomfort for all concerned for sales that happen before the business is completely wound down. Given that and the very few numbers of copies out there, this is a case of the sooner you look the more likely you are to get any result. I do think this shows that my publisher's been in trouble for a bit and was trying to keep their head abov water, to be honest. If there were copies of everything in all the places, I suspect everything would have been a lot easier.
I've asked about buying my publisher's own stock, but Satalyte never kept much on hand, so, even if they get back to me and say "it's yours" there's not going to be many copies. The days of large number being warehoused is largely a thing of the past.
