It's my day I thought it was my day at seasonal_spuffy on Tuesday. THIS IS BECAUSE I AM STUPID AND CANNOT READ A LIST I COMPOSED AND POSTED MYSELF. It's actually tomorrow.

What started as a short ficlet took on a mind of its own. The rest will come on the Free-For-All day.

I really love this! You've done a wonderful job of taking the 'fairytale wedding' scenario to a very real place. I believe Buffy would feel exactly as you depict her feeling - anxious, uncertain, weighed down by the past, her girlish dreams long since crushed by regret and loss and death. Very insightful!

Thanks. She went through that phase with Angel. Spike would want to do it properly if at all, but Buffy's no longer in that place.

You never know - he may be able to convert her!

Buffy did all the wedding dreams stuff long ago. Spike would take it seriously, though.

I like the explanation for why Buffy's over the whole wedding thing -- her Mom being dead, her fairytale having been recast, and her parties generally "Bring Your Own Axe" affairs.

It's a little sad for her, but also in a way a good sign -- people who think they can make a commitment out of a ceremony, or that their wedding day should be the best day of their lives, probably aren't ready to get married. :)
