Last night Channel 4 showed a comedy by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, called
Just Around the Corner.
The lead female role was played by one of my former pupils, Jennie. (She's playing a seventeen-year-old, but I happen to know her exact age. Let's just say you can't trust
IMDB all the time.) She is one of two pupils I taught Theatre Studies at Henry's who gained full marks for the acting part of her practical exam. And now she's playing James Bolam's granddaughter! (The other was a certain daughter of mine...)
It's funny seeing someone you know well performing on TV. But I am really excited for her. It was a one-off, but with the potential for a series - I do hope she gets it.
Go Jennie!
