The second chapter of what looks as if it will be another three or four chapters in total. None of the rest is ready to post, though it will be by the time the
seasonal_spuffy free-for-all day opens.
Chapter one was
here.
This chapter is rated G, though there is a little justifiable violence.

After the Deluge: Sunshine )
Another spare and elegant chapter - the characterization is really good (good Buffy characterization is my #1 kink with Buffy fanfic), really true to the show, but you don't overdo anything. By which I mean Andrew, of course - by having Buffy tune him out, you have just enough dialogue by him to get the point across and feel like Andrew, but not make ME tune him out. (To me Andrew is best in small doses.)
I don't think I've read a story that specified exactly HOW she found out about Spike from Andrew (or anyone else). In most of the stories I've read it takes place "offscreen". Or maybe I just notice it here because, again, your prose is very spare? That's not the word I'm looking for, but I'm in awe of someone who can write and not have a single word more than necessary to move the plot or create atmosphere & character. Not a wasted word here.
But how had she ever put up with that brooding? How, indeed, had she ever thought it was a sign of a deep character? She’d left town with a certain amount of relief in the end.
And that puts the nail in the coffin. As it should be.
in that direction at least, her cookies finally were cooked.
Teensy crit? "Baked" not "cooked". (Sorry, Kitchen Queen over here.)
