Chloe, my roommates' cat, has gotten progressively worse since my last update. Kristine and I found PEE in one of our bowls that we keep on the kitchen counter. It had been full of Kristine's Halloween candy. Then we found more pee on the kitchen counter. This morning, we found poop AND pee on one of our kitchen rugs, and it's not Chloe's because it is bigger poop. Because Chloe has exhibited this behavior, we now think Murphy (and maybe even Ramses, though I doubt it) is doing it. Once one cat does this, other cats follow. Murphy HAS done this in the past because Chloe started it.
I feel horrible, because now my roommate is wanting to give Chloe away. Chloe doesn't like Ramses AT ALL, and for the past three years Kristine has had her, she has gotten worse. Before I even lived with Kristine Chloe would poop all over her old futon and all over one of the rooms in her apartment. Needless to say, I was not happy about the idea of living with this cat.
My roommate is very depressed and I feel horrible. We don't know what to do. I'm not giving Ramses up (and it's not like Kristine wants me to). Ramses is BY FAR the most affectionate of the three cats and we both adore him. But if this behavior keeps happening Chloe is going to have to go (and it WILL keep happening, we both know it). I don't know how my roommate would be able to do that as Chloe is her baby, but we have both had ENOUGH.
I feel horrible that I got Ramses now, even though we both adore and wanted him. But the thing is, Chloe was doing this long before my cat came into the picture. And Ramses is nothing but sweet to her. And until I actually catch him in the act, I won't blame anything on him. But what happens if she decides to keep Chloe and Ramses starts doing it?!
What do we do? What can I do to preserve my sanity in case Kristine chooses to keep her? THREE TIMES this week I have cleaned up after Chloe because Kristine works all day and I'm the one that finds her mess in the living room. She's NOT my cat and I'm tired of cleaning up after her!!!!!!! Not to mention the fact that our beautiful townhouse is turning into a digusting MESS because of this fucking cat. Advice?
