There aren't many things that offend me, as I'm sure some of you know. It takes quite a bit for me to bother to type a journal entry these days, but this advertisment I saw on yahoo really got me ruffled. It said, "We know Martha' pick. What's yours," and a picture of the product.
It was so forceful, and sure that I would think that this was an appropriate way for them to get me to pick their brand. Of course I'll go and buy you just because you have Martha's seal of approval, it's the obvious thing to do. Martha is a corperate whore. She puts her name on so many products, and I can't say they're all the best ever. When I see something marked with her seal of approval, I just wonder how much money they paid her.
I like it better when they just discribe their product in terms of what it is. Discribe the flavor or something. I don't want to be told to buy someone because someone else does. If Martha jumped of a bridge, to put it as my mother use to say, I wouldn't jump off too. It amazes me that this technique of advertisment actually works.
