"Choke on that, causality!"

Today is the most depressing day of the year. I'm not kidding the Brits (dang, I love those guys) have done research on the topic and concluded that January 22nd is "Blue Monday." Personally I had a pretty OK day. The only thing I'm really bummed about is that I'm still feeling kinda "doughy" from the holidays and such. I know that this is because I went from doing yoga two days a week to one because our Monday teacher quit due to schedule conflicts. It also seems that the job of finding a new one has fallen into my lap (how did that happen?) so if I want my ass back in shape I need to get up off it and start putting ads on the internets.

Come to think of it, no one (probably) in my neck of the woods had a bad day today. The Chicago Bears are going to the super bowl for the first time in 22 years. People are making a big deal about it, including my Mom who has decided to throw a party. She's already got what to make for dinner and dessert picked out and I'm sure my Old Man is working on how many different kinds of hors devours she'll let him have. She showed me the recipe of what she's planning to cook today and it's some kind of chicken casserole concoction...

Me: Have you ever made this before?
Mom: Yeah, it's good.
Me: (notes the raise in octave in her voice) When?
Mom: Um, for your Aunt Bibi. When she came for a visit.*
Me: ...
Mom: Well you can just fill up on hors devours and have extra cookies for dessert if you don't like it.
Me: Can do. Go Bears.

Also, if I had my way this town would forget about trying to revive the Super Bowl Shuffle and this little diddy would be the Bears' new theme:

Troubbble | Stephen Malkmus

Xylophone solo! Also, some of you may or may not have heard that those Fall Out Boys performed during halftime at the Bears game last Sunday. I was listening to the radio today on the way home from work and the dj suggested that FOB go down to Miami and perform "Arms Race" with Prince during the super bowl halftime show because it was clearly the emo music that inspired the Bears to triumph in the second half. I whole-heartedly support this idea because I think Prince and Patrick Stump on the same stage together would either be wondrously wonderful or wondrously bad. Both would work for me.

* The last time my Aunt Bibi was in our house was three years ago and I would have remembered feeding her chicken concoction at that time. Before that, the last time she was over to my parent's house might have very well been when the Berlin Wall came down. I'm not kidding.

yoga, psychology, super bowl, mp3
