Saga - Chapter 28, part 1

Ragnvald really stepped up to the challenge like a true Norse would (when it was mentioned he roared like a berserker I knew one of the assailants wouldn't have a chance!).
Eoin is so brave and true, for a moment I dreaded the worse when he was wounded so viciously, and in general because they were always two against three.
What a moving detail, Eoin asking Ragnvald to make the cross sign over him, once again reinforcing Eoin's idea that his Christian God is watching over him and everything must happen for a reason.
I like how you described Ragnhild's kind and competent care, and how Eoin's good name and reputation made his recovery possible at Torgeirr's house.
I loved this passage:
They were cold and calculating, and met his unwaveringly. The attacker’s expression held neither malice nor hatred, just the firm determination get the job done quickly
as it showed the would-be assassins as people hired to do a job, simple as that, and who were presumably honourable men, respected in their clans and the people they worked for. It nearly made me feel sorry they met their death in such a way, but I'm sure they knew the risks involved when they agreed to the job. How very interesting, what Ragnvald said about taking legal responsibility for killing an opponent in self-defense. And about granting proper burial to the two men who succumbed in the fight.
Eoin's attempts at humour at Ragnvald's expense were priceless, they really put a smile on my face, and provided a much needed comic relief. Of course they would fall flat on Ragnvald, but I was ever so glad that Eoin made them :)
