Ah lovely. I love the smut and the sex, I really do, but sometimes a nice intimate piece is just perfect. And I love the intimacy here. I can imagine that when they do sleep together that night it will just be sleeping and later on, when the world becomes un-crazy again and Xander's older Giles' will name that feeling that came with the relief as "love" and then they'll sleep together in another way.

Oh. I love this. I absolutely love the way Xander simply appears on Giles' doorstep every time it rains. I love how they fall into a sort of routine that's so quietly domestic, and yet... not. And they play chess! Just this morning, I was trying to think up ways of writing a fic in which Giles and Xander played chess. You did it so perfectly, though, I love this.

And I love that there's no explanation of their relationship, because there's really no need for one, it's just *there*, so when Xander asks if he can sleep with Giles, it's the most natural thing in the world.
