Tuesday 2:04 PM

That’s when it happened. He didn’t even bother to consult his watch anymore. For the past two months, it came upon him, like some sort of virus.

Shallowness of breath. Check. Accelerated heartbeat. Check. Hollow in the pit of his stomach. Check. The way his bones felt disconnected. Check.

For twenty-six minutes, the symptoms would drive themselves to the point where he could barely stand it. He always locked the door when they started, certain that if someone saw him, they would want to rush him over to the medical clinic immediately.

He knew that the cure was to wait it out. To wait those twenty-six minutes for the one thing that he looked forward to every week.

Giles’ voice on the other end of the phone saying, “Hello, Xander.”

Aw! How awesome is it that Xander gets nervous and jittery when Giles is going to call. I'd love to see more about this but it's just wonderful like it is. *squishes it*

I love it when somebody just mentions Xander getting a phone call from Giles when he's out on assignment, so this is a little tribute to that. Glad you enjoyed it!
