New York Trip

Mom and I went to see the show Million Dollar Quartet with her Jewish Women International Group.  I had a great time, in spite of some people who should be beyond old enough to know better almost ruining everything for everyone and certain others who kept staring at me for no reason (I'll get into that in a bit).

  • First of all, I was afraid that certain people (such as Larry and Stephanie would be problematic.  Even though I was wary of Stephanie's sincerity since she was trying to be super friendly towards me, she behaved herself. It was Denise that was one the issues that I had to deal with.  I was angry at her due to the fact that Mom and I felt that she tried to play one against the other, which, to quote The Fonz "Not cool!"  She e-mailed both of us to ask us if she could stay with us and Mom and I both told her no.  Of course Stephanie's father was acting like a jerk as per usual, but I made a point to not talk to Denise because I don't like people who play both sides against the middle whether they mean to or not.  That was the impression I got.  I tolerated her because of Elysa, but I told Elysa that I had enough.  Denise can just Sit on It.
  • Mom and I had an excellent lunch at Junior's.  That sandwich looked so gorgeous, my only regret is that I didn't take a photo of my Tuna Melt sandwich before I consumed it.  After lunch, we decided to try and head over to the theater since Mom and I aren't really familiar with NYC.  We did go to the Sanrio store, the only thing I bought was a tote bag for Japan Disaster relief (but Hello Kitty is on it!  YAY!)  Mom said I was in "Hello Kitty Paradise".
  • I highly recommend The Million Dollar Quartet.  That show is freaking AWESOME!!!!  Especially if you like the music of the late 1950's, more specifically Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash.  That was AMAZING.  And the actor who played Jerry Lee Lewis was phenomenal.  He's super nice too, the actors came out front after the show.  I totally did not recognize the actor who played Carl Perkins, he was wearing the square "Geek frames" that were similar to David Tennant's on Doctor Who (or Buddy Holly) LOL! It was just one of those times that I was glad I remembered to charge the batteries and bring my camera at all.  Of course I thought I accidentally deleted them off my card, but it turns out I didn't.  Thank God for that!
  • There was a bit of an incident, which I'm not going to get into, but I'm angry at this person for putting Mom and I in the middle of an uncomfortable situation.  Needless to say, said person is most likely going to be banned from future trips, serves them right.  To quote Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that!"  In spite of this, dinner was very uneventful, I even enjoyed Larry's contributions to the conversation as inappropriate as they were.  I didn't feel like doing more group photos at the restaurant for Stephanie though, especially with Denise and Larry involved and I said no.  Denise said that she told Stephanie that I said no even though she kept insisting and I commented that I didn't want to do it because of her and I was angry with her.  Denise just kept staring at me the whole day when she was around and made me feel uncomfortable.  I didn't think that she should have been on the trip being as it was she had an infant at home, but that is just my own opinion.

time spent with mom, roadtrip, nyc trip
