... ok .. let's say "let's give them a bit more opportunity to fix things up .. "
However this company was listed on PC Computer Magazine as "best hosting available in UK" ..
Been reccomended by various people/etc. as "one of the best" ( however other people said "I would not touch them with a pole 1 mile long" ) but you know "internet is full of controversy" let's say "if 10 says ok and 3 says no probably is quite ok".
The story begins with buying the stuff .. so many options and things .. we go for a "Business" option.
Forms blah blah to fill .. cool, the know about Wales, they know about Carmarthen, they even know about its Welsh name and all.
But .. they seems NOT to know about the peculiarity of local addresses .. here quite some places have no street name and no street number .. especially if you live in a place like us where it's not even a street and we are the only house around apart our tory neighbour ..
It takes a few phone calls and blah blah to sort all out, in the end, screw the form, we had to do it all by voice and phone.
Ok .. control panel and all all working .. PHP and all all working .. so far, all good.
Right .. all goes all right .. time to move domain to the new hosting, carefully studying twice .. three times all the instructions .. "let's go" ..
"Part 1, enter the name and click here then choose .. "
Enter the name, click => Error message "Sorry domain is unavailable" .. eh ?
Check .. recheck ..
.. FANCULO begins to be in the air ..
Phone call to tech support .. blah blah .. "we believe you may have a problem with your registar you should contact them first before we further proceed .. "
.. even MORE FANCULO in the air ..
I contact them, opened a ticket with "Urgent" issue .. still have to get any reply .. but a quick check makes me quite sure that "there can be nothing wrong in here" ..
Then .. "as a temporary fix" .. idea ! "We still have 3 domains available, let's meanwhile get one of those" ..
Read the instructions .. 4 times .. "Go here, enter the name, click the button and .. "
... YET MORE FANCULO IN THE AIR .. "Domain in unavailable" ..
A second call to support goes .. different guy this time .. there is an half admission about "something does not quite work in that interface" ..
Ok we'll wait tomorrow ..
But "as a final test" .. some hours later we did try again ..
OH .. now it accepts the name .. evidently, there was something wrong they maybe fixed it ..
But yet something is NOT totally working, now it cannot recognize our email settings ..
BUT the "get the extra domain works" so meanwhile we get it .. ok should be all right ..
Go to sleep .. let's see the next day ..
Morning, the next day : "domain is active" .. YEAH YEAH ! SO COOL !
... so cool not exactly .. it's here, it resolves, it should be mapped in the same root dir .. but it does not work ..
.. FANCULO of the morning in the air ..
This time I send them a support email.
The email recognition still does not work.
I sent them another support email including a dump of our DNS records.
Is anything working nowadays ?
