"Faith!" Giles shouted again but still she remained motionless at the top of the chasm, mesmerised by the demon's swirling golden void. "Oh, bloody hell."
He scrambled up and grabbed her arm. "Come away. I don't care what you think you can see in there."
She flicked him away effortlessly, her gaze still on the mystical eddies below and Giles grew genuinely frightened. "Please."
"But I can see what happens, Giles. A cheap motel, a bottle of scotch, a handgun..."
"You're stronger than that, Faith."
She turned and looked at him so sadly.
