Wednesday Fic Recs: Seeing Something He Wants.
Why Do You Breathe?, by savoytruffle. Giles/Xander, post-Chosen, FRM/R. Taking advantage of the libraries takes days and in the end it's Xander who drags Giles out of Timbuktu and not the other way around as planned. Giles and Xander in Africa. This is one of those fics where the characters dance around, away, and toward each other, sweeping the reader along with them, in the process. It reminds me of watching a tango.
Best. Game. Ever. by mireille719. Giles/Wesley/Xander, Xander's POV, FRAO/NC-17. People should not take him seriously, Xander decided... Giles, Wes, and Xander have a few drinks and play truth or dare. Hilarity ensues. :)
mireille719 is also the purveyor of the wonderful multi-part road trip WIP, Sleep While I Drive. Giles/Xander, post-Graduation Day, PG-13 shading into R. "What's a bad idea?" Giles asked, and that edge had gone out of his voice; it was soft now, and he sounded uncertain, and Xander didn't know how to take that, either. Their everyday lives are so far from normal that when they embark on what seems, on the surface, to be such an "ordinary" adventure, and experience things together that they weren't expecting, it all takes on a magical quality -- car breakdowns, rainstorms, bookstores...
Candyass by RealMitzvah (outside link). Ripper/Xander, alternate version of the events in Band Candy, FRAO/NC-17. "...We need to do something fun." Booze, drugs, Cream, spiked chocolate bars, toppish Giles... There should be more Ripper/Xander fic.
