I messed up last week and forgot my day to rec, so as penance I have brought you three stories this week! All slash, none have been rec'd here before (according to the tags).
First up, we have Giles/Ethan:
An Antique Roman by
antennapedia, FRT, set third season during and just after "Amends." Ethan has his own opinion about what constitutes amends.
Ahhh, how do I love this story? Let me count the ways. First, there's Ethan. This is a very domesticated Ethan. One might even call him "sweet" - if one had no sense of self-preservation. Second, this story takes "Amends," one of my least favorite Buffy eps ever, and fixes it in a wonderfully creative way. Third, there is snark. Well, where there is Ethan, there is generally snark, but this is very high quality snark, in large quantities. Fourth, there is some wonderfully sweet h/c. In short: this universe sucked me in and made me happy.
Next we have Giles/Xander:
Killing Time by
mireille719, FRAO, set third season (but Xander is eighteen). It'd be even better to be able to look back and say, "Hey, remember that night we had sex in that crypt when we were hiding from those demons?"
The summary pretty much says it all - this is short, hot, and sweet. What more could you ask for?
And last but certainly not least, we have Giles/Wesley:
Psychopompos by
glimmergirl, FRT, Wishverse. Giles drives from the Hellmouth in California to the one in Ohio to find Buffy's Watcher.
Dark, obviously, because the Wishverse always is, but this is really more melancholy than anything else. I love how Giles is still Giles, but different from his destiny having failed and having lived two years on an out of control Hellmouth. Wesley is wonderful as well, particularly his relationship with Buffy. And, to top all that off, the writing is lovely.
