Through a Glass Darkly by hobgoblinn, FRT, gen (Giles, Buffy, various Scoobies, and the not-so-dearly departed Snyder).
Summary: He wondered sometimes, later, what he would have done differently, if he had known that it was going to be his last day alive on earth.
I'm not sure you can say Giles is front and center in this fic, but he's definitely got a big role as one of two people (Buffy being the other) that Snyder is being forced to haunt. antennapedia said to me once that she'd described this fic as "compassionate" and that is an excellent word for it. I didn't think anyone could make me like Snyder, much less make Buffy (and Giles) realistically like Snyder, but hobgoblinn manages it beautifully here. There are some especially lovely details about his past.
