The Watcher That Never Was and Alternative Lifestyle
I have been enjoying wickedfox's WIP so much that I've gone back to her fanfic site Unrequited and started re-reading all of her wonderful stories.
The Watcher That Never Was (B/G - FRAO) is an old favorite of mine. What if Giles had never returned to the Watcher's Council? This story tells the tale of a middle-aged Ripper coming to Sunnydale with his partners in crime, Ethan and Faith. Ripper knows Buffy would have been his Slayer had he stayed at the Academy and feels drawn to fulfill his destiny with her.
I think Alternative Lifestyle (B/G - FRM) by A.C. Chapin makes a nice companion piece to this, so I'm reccing it today as well. Is there anyone out there who hasn't read this yet? It's alternative universe where Buffy is Annie and Giles is Ripper battling the evil Angelus. Brilliant.
