Today I'm reccing something I had wanted to recommend in an earlier recs post--one of my first. This fic wasn't available at the time, but now here it is for your enjoyment.
As a former high school teacher , I sometimes have to squint really hard at the first three seasons of BtVS and remind myself, "this is TV-land, not the real world." In
Things Aren't Always What They Seem, by
scratchingpost1 (gen, FRT), one of Buffy's teachers jumps to the wrong conclusion about what's going on in the library. (You know, with a student hanging around the librarian all the time, including long after school hours, with no other adults around....) This story brings a little bit of added realism to the Buffyverse without being heavy-handed, and presents an original character (the teacher in question) who is reasonable, sympathetic, and concerned about her student--as well as being open-minded when she finds out the truth.
It's an enjoyable gen story, and provides a nice look at an outside perspective. It's an older story, but if you read and enjoy, I'm sure the author would still appreciate the feedback. :)
