Yuletide is here! And I got two fics!

Mirabilis Visu, a gorgeous Aeneid fic set on the day of the Trojan War's conclusion (and the meeting of Nisus and Euryalus). This story imitates the devices of the original poem in a captivating way--every man has his epithet; every action recalls the history of Troy; even the celebratory garlands are god-touched. It reads like a literal translation of the Latin, and for me, the stylistic magpie, this is high, high praise.

New Cloth, a shattering Hamlet fic in which Laertes learns many things: How to win an argument, how to wear a scar, and how to hate a rival. The images flit by like fever-dreams, full of triumph and recriminations, slipping in and out of bright moments of lucidity. Brilliant, beautiful fic.
