Work.

Ok so dig this. I'm exhausted because of a late-night emergency. I go to work and I'm getting harassed over details. I send an email to someone named "Tabatha" and I spelled it "Tabitha" yes it was dumb. It's just frustrating. I wonder if there are any jobs out there that aren't detail oriented. The day from that point out is pretty ok, going through and updating customer statuses in the database. Pretty relaxing compared to what I normally to. All cut and paste, no user input to fuck up. Also finished up a fax blast that will hopefully get us some business. It's supposed to be slow right now. I hate the ebb and flow of this job too. it will be slow as fuck, and just when you feel fed up enough to look for another job it picks back up and makes you think it will be ok now. Luckily this time I've already started looking for either a second or better job. I've got a year of experience now so I got what I needed. Anyway, today I got an email to check on a client that we hadn't heard from yet who wanted a support contract for a system that we support but that I've never seen. at the beginning when they first contacted us I asked my boss if we even support it, and apparently we do. So first I had to sell a support plan for a product I've never seen and know nothing about. So anyway I call today and start getting a million questions, most of which blindside me but I hang in there and if for nothing other than their dissatisfaction with their current support people. Anyways they wanted to talk to one of the techs for this particular product so I tried to get one of my co-workers who has at least seen the GUI for this thing to talk to them and one says to ask the boss and the boss says he already talked to them for an hour and if they don't want support it's a waste of time. So I called them back ad fibbed that there was an emergency and then set an appointment so they can get a system evaluation since they have an old system and we have been doing this for support contract prospects anyway. Since I don't know the system from a hole in the ground I set it with a tech who does (the same one who didn't want to take the call before) so hopefully it will all turn out ok. If it doesn't then I don't know what to say other than I asked if we can do this before I even told them we could. If they can't handle a system check then clearly this isn't something we can do. Also if this turns out poorly, I'm not the one who emailed me and said to check on a client that might turn out to be a pain in the ass waste of time when I was content to leave it alone and not call. This had better not turn the fuck around on me. If it does I'm already looking for another job so its all good. I really don't know what else they expect me to do. Have I mentioned I hate working for small businesses that don't know right from left and even if they do can't be bothered to let me know what's what?
