Remove "working well" from the list of things my Lombard is doing right now. The 20GB disk absolutely gave out last night. And I can't seem to coax either of my 4GB disks into working. So I have no Mac at the moment :(
But, for the good news... that 20GB is still under warranty! So, on Monday it gets shipped out for RMA replacement. I'm even spending (whenever my UPS bill arrives, that is) more to get there by Wednesday. Because I want my flippin' PowerBook working again.
The only things I want to actually put cash into on this PB are more memory (192MB will never cut it) and wireless (damn them for leaving only one CardBus slot and not putting in AirPort until Pismo...).
My (still awesome) SGI Octane doesn't seem to have a purpose for me anymore. Come September and it'll be useless. The only reason it's still on is because it's the only machine I own with enough disk to hold my music, and also the only one with a CD/RW.
Yes, if things continue as I'd like them to, I will be selling one or both of my Octanes in the next month or so. I may keep the second one and fix that, and come up with some use for it. It's in a very unknown state, but could prove to be an interesting project for me. That particular Octane's probably not worth the work, but since when I do I do logical things.
