Listen, you guys. I haven't posted here in for-ever, but I'm so bored! (I should be working, but I can do that later.)
I'm living outside Springfield MA right now and am dealing with "Nemo" (ugh).
Protip: Don't read the hashtag #MAStorm if you don't want to see what the idiots thinks. Jeebus.
I love everyone being super racist and dipshitty that the Governor signed a ban on driving after 4pm. So that idiots aren't stuck dying in their cars.
What particularly sticks in my craw are the "IS THAT LEGAL?" people. Seriously. No, the governor just broke the law so you can't drive in four feet of snow. Duh, states control state roads and interstates and the cars on them. That's why the police can search your car more easily and why you have to get a license to use motorized vehicles on the highway. Because unless you're driving on a private right of way, that's the government's property. State governments also have a duty to keep you safe, and sometimes that involves saying "Hey guys, I don't think you should drive in blizzard conditions with sustained winds and whiteout snow, where you could kill yourself or others."
Also, calling the governor a "liberal pussy" is... interesting, when loads of Republicans routinely order storm EVACUATIONS and close down the roads as well.
Can people just use logic instead of thinking of ways to undermine people? I mean, seriously, what is it about people where they constantly have to needle? I'm looking at you "lol what about police vehicles out after 4pm!?" Girl. Police are under the executive arm of the state and are enforcing the ban.
Also, for the person who was complaining that "Oswego and Buffalo REGULARLY get this much snow and NOBODY in the national media CARES":
1. Ok. I'm sorry. It's a big mistake that there's been such a coverup of the snow that accumulates in upstate New York.
2. Does Oswego have a huge international airport that's a start point or terminus for most national and international flights?
3. Do these Oswego storms impact 37 million people?
4. (loads more reasons, whatever, stop being a jealous idiot).
