H ail, God the Father, Lord of all,
O ur dear Creator, Source of Grace,
D escending to each hearth and hall
I n every near and distant place.
E ternal blessings on our race
C ome forth from thee, who deigns to stay
H ere with us on this joyful day.

R ejoice, for now the Prince of Peace
I s here on earth a human child,
S ecuring thus our souls' release
T o Heaven's grace from dark defiled.
U nfailing Love, who reconciled
S uch needful souls to holy light,
N ow lives on earth both day and night.

A nd unto God the Spirit raise
T he song that blessed angels sing
U nto His everlasting praise:
S ing out and make the heavens ring
E ternal joy in God our King;
S ing sweetly on this holy morn:
T oday our Saviour Christ is born.
