A weekly update

Well I've had a pretty good week. My birthday was good; it was my first day off from band so I enjoyed relaxing the entire day and getting some stuff done around here. Then on Monday it was back at it again. I was a shadow this week which meant I had to learn drill for an entire rank of people (12) in case any of them weren't there. Shadowing is normally really easy because the rank stays together and you can just follow the form but this week my rank split up 3/4 of the way through the first song and never came back together so needless to say, I was happy not to get thrown in on Saturday morning. Classes started on Tuesday .... I'm really excited for this semester. Comm seems like it's going to be awesome and Physics is a nice break from all the reading and writing I did last year. French is going to be a blast because Lauren (another alto) is in my class. On Friday, I went to the orthopedic specialist about my hip, turns out I did something to the tendons in front of my hip so now I have to go to PT three times a week. Have to call some places tomorrow and get that ball rolling. Friday was also our challenges for Notre Dame; I think mine went well. Afterward Justin told me that my glide step was awesome and that he only had two comments, my traditional angles were a little low and my exchange could be a little faster but other than that he said it looked good. Yeah!! That makes me happy enough as it is but I really would love to go to the game this weekend!! Saturday's game was alright. Practice got bumped up to 7:30 so I spent the night at Lauren and Michelle's apartment because it is a lot closer to Revelli. We won the game and the show went pretty well. The end seemed to drag on forever but that happens ... afterward, we went back to Revelli with Western's band and had some refreshments and watched our shows. It was nice but all I really wanted to do was get out of my uniform. Ended up staying at Lauren and Michelle's til like 9 pm last night; Lauren hooked up her Nintendo (like old school original Nintendo) so we ended up playing Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, and Dr. Mario. Then I came back to my room and when I walked in my third roommate had moved in. Her name is Shay and she is a freshman from Dallas, TX. I haven't had a lot of time to talk with her but she seems really nice so that's good. It should be a good year. Then I met up with Miranda and we headed to Lauren and Michelle's to pick them up to head to the band party. We ended up watching the Trading Spaces episode of A Makeover Story (Ty and Amy Wynn) and A Wedding Story (Paige). Then we headed to the band party, where Miranda and I hung out for a couple hours before heading back to our rooms to crash. Overall it was a lot of fun. Today I have a lot to do though so I should get going.
