First of all, Casey and I decided to add a final and fourth pet to our family on Friday. Casey has bugged me for several years about getting a Sphynx (hairless) cat. JT and Niki have a hairless cat and Casey thinks they are the greatest things ever. Since I absolutely refuse to buy from breeders or pet stores, I would only rescue a hairless from a shelter. Well, we found a 1-year old cat from a shelter in Utah. She was flown to us on Friday and Casey picked her up from the airport Friday afternoon. She is a very sweet baby and is adjusting well to life in the Calvert household. Casey decided since JT and Niki have a hairless cat named Mr. Pibb and he loves Dr. Pepper so much, her name should be Dr. Pepper. I agreed (I'm not sure why), so our new cat's name is Dr. Pepper, aka Pepper or Peps or Peppy for short! Here is her Petfinder pic, but I will be updating with more pictures soon I'm sure!
In great news, both Phoenix and Delilah, the two longest stays at the shelter, were adopted in the last two weeks. Delilah was adopted on Saturday off the Petmobile and it nearly made me cry. She is the kind of dog that doesn't attract many people, her look just isn't that exciting. She was super sweet and I thought she was a great dog. Dee and I really talked her up and the family took her home with them! Here she is happy as can be in her new house !
