Just got back from the film festival at UNH. It was alot better than I anticipated. Quite a few quality submissions. I wasn't sure how our (steve, bob w. and I) film would be recived. At this point it's still unclear to me haha. I think we melted a few minds, but it was too abstract to place. We got some positive comments about the cinematography ( Read more... )

i haven't quite rocked out as you have, but let me tell you this:

i love the police, particularly because of sting's singing. teh wassung-dave connection covered "message in a bottle" at a basement show a month or so ago, with me singing, and it was the most fun i've had in as long as i can remember. i think doing something you really enjoy, and doing it well, (especially when you're getting recognized for it, and feel it's appreciated,) is an awesome feeling/a huge rush.

I can totally sympathize. I've got the same thing going on over here and it's been bugging me for a while. I remember when I first started my band you warned me that playing shows was addictive and I kind of scoffed, but you're absolutely spot on about it. I can't think of anything I enjoy more. I really need to get a band going over here. I have one, but we don't even meet up once a week and it's frustrating the shit out of me.

Natalie,
I am thrilled to hear that you like it. I didn't get the impression that too many folks dug it a whole lot.
Here's the deal. Highway Child will never die. However certin people within the band arent in the posotion to go at it full time, or won't be in the near future. Whenever we're around and have some time, we will write/record music and play shows. By keeping it a side project it garuntees longevity. It's about friendship and musical exploration, and nothing else. Also, everytime we do reunite like the rock and roll voltron that we are, it will be like Christmas for all involved as well as our three fans: you, dave loverme and steve loverme.
Before we put this baby on ice for the first time, we will definetly hit Providence like a freaked out UFO landing from outer space. We'll also be recording as soon as we're able. Thanks again for the words. <3 -bob
