It was a Friday night. I wanted watch something easy, light, something about love.
I picked this title ços it starred 2 of my fave actors. Oooh, Dermot Mulroney sure did age like a fine wine - love that salt & pepper look. I'd been looking out for his movies since "My Best Friend's Wedding".
OMG, first 5 minutes into the show and I knew it was not the movie I made it out to be.
**Spoiler ahead**
It's a story about how Griffin meets and falls in love with Phoenix, unknown to each of them that the other is terminally ill.
There were some heart breaking scenes like how Griffin makes Phoenix promise him that she will not look for him or visit him in the hospital if his condition worsens.
Or that Phoenix realises she didn't take note of the last time she held a pencil or the last time she played a piano...but that changed when she met him.
The late nights at work has been draining me since we got back from London. Even when I sleep, the subconcious mind thinks about work. The happiest thing about leaving the office is seeing & being with Wei and sharing with him the happenings during the day. Most times, I am guilty of being with him yet miles away.
This movie knocked some sense into me. How could I have let the time and opporunities slip by when I should be soaked myself into Wei's world? There could be people fighting to spend one second more with their loved ones and I am squandering it away, allowing work to define my life.
Not that won't do.
Thank God I have a few more days to enjoy, celebrate and soak up the rest of festive atmosphere. It would've been a shame to let it slip by.
I left the pile of mess on my table during lunch & went Christmas shopping today for the first time this year.
