Food, NYC and the weekend

Jul 01, 2007 23:13

Just got back from the city with my dad. Been out of the loop with everyone at school for the past two weekends cause my dad's in town. Missed my best friend's birthday celebration and some awesome school events like a rafting trip, a Chinese dinner and a school dance but I still liked hanging out with my dad.

Last weekend, the highlight was eating lunch at Peter Luger with my dad and my two friends. See Peter Luger Porterhouse Below.

This weekend was more fun though because we had more time on our hands and we did exciting stuff like eat at that Times Square food market, go shopping and watch Phantom of the Opera. I was insisting on watching Les Mis because it was Lea Salonga but my dad said since I saw it twice already it was useless. I was better off watching Phantom. I saw it and liked it but was afraid of having nightmares that night. Now I know why I didn't wanna watch Phantom before. I was scared of that Phantom guy. I don't like guys with white faces...not the Phantom, not the Joker and not Jim Carrey.

The market was fun....though I wasn't too thrilled about the tourists around me. I had that gyro in the tent and my dad had Italian sausage something. HAHA.

After that, we had after-theatre dinner
It was so freaking crispy and perfectly seasoned. Dammit. I'm hungry again.

I had the Maine Lobster Salad to start which was good too although I started scratching...even after my dad gave me an allergy medicine. Why I insist on eating Lobster despite my allergy is due to my hardheadedness and my desperate stomach and tongue.

Great experience. My dad mentioned at the start that I was a culinary student at the CIA to the server. I guess the server mentioned it to the kitchen. I ordered a Hazelnut Parfait (HEAVEN!!!!) for dessert....and they came out with two desserts....the other was Strawberry Trifle. Compliments from the kitchen! AWESOME. I was psyched. My dad was psyched too. Hence, the big tip to the server after. HAHA!

This was the Hazelnut Parfait that I got for dessert. Can I die now?

And here's my free Strawberry Trifle. Awesome.

Okay, me now go to sleep.

Freak I bought so much crap. I bought new jeans from Abercrombie which fit well. I still feel guilty about buying there though because of the racist issue.
