Back from Spring Break

I just got back and now I have to unpack!

It's such a paaaiiiinnnnnn.....

If my mother saw me trying to make my way to Grand Central, she would roll over in her grave from laughing...because once again ladies and gentlemen, I overshopped. I don't think I bought a lot but it was too much for my bag. Lesson: next time, bring bigger bag. Three days in NYC is not equal to three days in HKG in terms of shopping.

I stayed alone at the YMCA and people kept coming up to me, asking me where I'm from. They like listening to my conversations when I'm talking to my friend in the elevator. Some try to guess where I'm from through my accent. They can't distinguish it daw. Hindi ba parang our accent sounds like the Thai when speaking English? Anyway, they're always surprised to hear that I'm from the Philippines. Even those in the check-in counter double-checked my passport. haha! I don't look like from the Philippines daw. I sooo think I look Asian but they don't seem to think so. Get this: Brazilians thought I was one of their own. As in, they thought I was Brazilian daw! Eh maliit pwet ko eh! Flat chested pa ko! Paano ko magiging Brazilian?! That was the nationality most people thought I was. Yung iba, Mexican daw. Nakanampuch! Tisay na ko!!! HAHAHAHA!!! The aura is working!!!! I told them I wanna go to Brazil. I should have whipped out my samba-capoiera moves. hahah.

Cool, I met this lady while on the way home on the subway, she started talking to me after I pulled out my cool subway Map from Time Out which looked like a book (Thanks Colleen!). She found out I was from CIA and she told me that she has been working in the food and beverage industry for 10 years...asteeegs. She gave me the name of the exec chef of The Waldorf Astoria and told me to introduce myself to him and that she sent me. Isn't that cool?! That was so random but that was totally fitting for my industry cause I need the networking.

Hay naku. I so lack sleep. I kept going out so I even lack more sleep than here at school. Will try to catch some Zzzzsss later. Went out with the Pinoy crowd on Friday and went out again with G and Richie last Sat. We had this midnight snack at this stall where they sold chicken and rice. It's the stall by the Hilton. G said there's always a line and sure enough there was but he managed to squiggle his way to the front. It's good and cheap. When Sugs gets here, we'll do that again.

Will rest now. My calves are killing me from all the walking I did.
