Comment on my Birthday
Person: "29 y/o ka na? Mag-asawa ka na para pwede mag-anak." (You're 29 years old already? Get married so you can have children!)
Me: "Pwede naman ako mag-anak ngayon na walang asawa! bubukaka lang ako" (I can have children without getting married. All I have to do is spread my legs wide.)
Seriously Filipinos, what is wrong with you and your penchant for marriage and the biological clock? Has it come to your senses that though people get married, they really aren't emotionally ready for such a commitment? I know so many people who get married that are absolutely immature. These same people breed children and then these children suffer when the marriage falls apart.
Here are reasons why people get married and why marriage does not apply to me:
1) Love - not everybody finds it, obviously I haven't, case closed
2) Children and Ensure Next Generation- I hate children. If you know me, I'm known to ignore them. I hate children of all ages, especially helpless ones that breastfeed and toddlers.
And as for ensuring the next generation, the last time I checked, we're still a Third world Country, and until we start getting our shit together, I'm not going to bring an innocent child into our moronic society where boxing champions who don't know their ass from their wife's vagina get to have a say in an important piece of legislation like the RH Bill.
3) Financial security - my mother did not work her ass of and die from the stress of working just so I can get married to any sick loser with money. My father did not work his ass off to provide quality education and sponsored educational travels so I can be fooled by any moron into marriage just so I can be "secure".
Nobody ever taught me that I had to get "married" to be "secure". It's "WORK YOUR ASS OFF" and don't depend on anybody, especially your husband, because if he screws you over, you can't get out.
4) Social Mobility - Do I look like a social climber to you?! I have no desire to join the Forbes Club set, or own a Birkin bag.
5) Because the Bible said so - Obviously, Catholic education backfired on me and I've burnt my bibles. If the bible says to kill yourself, will you do it too?
6) "It will solve all your problems" - someone actually told me this.
