I feel like last week I barely had any downtime. Tonight? Laundry time (after a two-week hiatus, ouch) so it's been a nice change. I sorta bailed on tennis Tuesday (sore, too windy, mom didn't want to play) so there was some downtime there as well.
Anyway, tonight I watched Cupcake Wars, which made me really want cupcakes. I had a cup of hot chocolate and three southern fried pieces of chicken drum sticks. I may make a salad soon out of guilt.
Then I watched a crappy show, "how'd you get so rich?" with Joan Rivers. It made me turn off the telly and get my butt up to the computer instead.
Oh yeah, I'm at my parents' house taking care of the cat...who had a bunch of food in her dish when I got home. It was totally untouched. She's so lazy she needs humans to guide her to the bowls. Parents are in T.O. meeting my sis up for some shopping and a couple of Blue Jays games. *sigh* I wish I could go too but I've got my big Halifax trip to save up for. And a house. And I dislike paying interest on stuff, so staying in Winnipeg it is!
I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this before but I'm a bit of a list maker. I find it helps me stay on track with getting things done at home and it helps my spastic memory. I knocked some crappy things off my plate this week, namely laundry, job application, finishing my travel mileage log and filing my taxes (better late than never). I also finally organized my banana split/Arbonne party that my co-worker pitched to me (she's a consultant) awhile back. I'm pumped to get the place nice and clean for it (Charlie's gone on a week-long business trip soon so that should help, hehe). It took a bit of work, at um, erm, work, to organize, but considering my crazy fast writing speed these days it didn't interfere with getting stuff done, so whatever.
(Feel like I'm ping ponging all over the place here) Aside from certain...personnel issues...with my current place, I feel like the job's getting a little too "easy" for me if you know what I mean. And I know I could shake things up and do something new, but I don't feel motivated. Where can I go with the company? Is there a financial incentive? The answer to both is no, so I choose to just continue putting out my usual good stuff, which causes little stress for the most part, but I really do want something new. Soon.
Today I did the free yoga class at Memorial Park with Erin and it was a super awesome way to break up the day. It was gorgeous outside and I did not want to get out of savasana. In fact, I'd be down with doing a whole lunch hour of savasana! Oh yeah, somehow I've really f**ked up my triceps from that boot camp. I was sore the past two days in different parts, but my triceps today are in excruciating pain when I bend my arm. It's freaking me out a little bit. I'm hoping I slept on them funny?
It's bedtime soon anyway. This weekend I've got a LOT to look forward to:
-Charlie and I celebrate our moving in together and our two year anniversary'ish at 529 Wellington. I'm SO excited to go there and mark such a special, important occasion for the both of us.
-Gosia's shower and stagette at Alive this weekend are going to be so much fun! Again, two more occasions I can get all dressed up for.
-Taking my new bike out for a spin man! I picked up the most adorable, blue cruiser bike from Sport Chek. It was love at first sight. Obviously going to do some biking with Charlie (and his new bike!) on Sunday.
-Access to an outdoor patio/screen room & BBQ. Oh yes, I will be making pork side ribs with some house-made mole barbeque sauce made by Chef Barbara O'Hara of Dessert Sinsations. It's one of the perks. (P.S. I went to try her special Mexican Fiesta menu this week -- it's incredible and runs for all of June!)
And on a final note, I've made a few fashion purchases over the past few days, including a beautiful navy "special edition" Joe Fresh dress with pleats that will be perfect for the shower and a work event. Today I also picked up a navy wristlet wallet from Matt & Nat as part of their Beyond the Rack sale. In case you want to check it out, here's an invite for membership:
