Long overdue update...
Wow. It has been a very long time since I wrote anything here. And even longer since I wrote anything of any value...
At the moment I'm back living with my parents which is less than fun but it's also rent free. Nick is visiting for the weekend which is great, and he's moving in in two weeks. He's got a place at the Institute of Education in London to do a Secondary Music PGCE and starts in three weeks or so. He's really happy about it, although a girl from the year below us at YSJ is going to be in his class and she's a bit of a know-it-all cow. And also my main "flute rival" but that's me being petty...
I'm alright so far. It's odd being back home, away from friends and things but also quite nice to be near Mum and Dad again. Although I'm ready to move out again. Mum is doing great. She had one of her check ups recently, and a blood test and scan thingy so we're waiting for the results of those. But the doctor was extremely optimistic so that's good :)
Recently I've been typing up my Grandpa's memoirs. He's 93 (born 1915) with nine brothers and sisters, not all of whom are still with us unfortunately. He has a lot of memories and it's amazing to read what he's written. So far I've done 14,000 words and it's 1937-ish. And that's just the first folder. 12,000 words was roughly a fifth of the folder, so 60,000 words for the whole thing, and assuming that it's the same for the other three folders (one of which is yet to be written) that's 240,000 words total. It's scary. But so, so, so interesting.
Anyway, I don't think I've written anything of any real interest but it's nice to be on here again.
