Oh god I love non-explicit Pete/Patrick. Uhh, not that I don't like the sex but this just feels so effortless. Beautiful. And the supporting characters are all spot-on. Why does it not surprise me that Gabe would totally be that guy to take advantage of drugged/drunk people? Oh Gabe. Affection between people (especially guys) where it doesn't necessarily have to lead anywhere is my favourite thing to read. Your Pete is my favourite Pete to read.

Haha, Gabe is totally just looking to have fun in any way he can. He's probably just as wasted as Pete claims he isn't.

I'm really glad you like this! I felt a little weird at first about labeling it Pete/Patrick when it isn't explicit, but then, you know, the story is still essentially about their relationship in the midst of everyone and everything else, so. I'm happy you think it works! :)

I really like this. I can't work out if it's lovely that their friendship holds through all the years, the way they weave between people and relationships and still have each other; or if it's sad too that there's so many missed connections within that time. A bit of both. That first kiss detailed between Pete and Patrick, with Patrick all affectionate and tipsy, works so well for me; it's sweet and unplanned and goes nowhere but doesn't screw anything up, and that seems to be the pattern all the way through for them.

Your writing is so natural all the way through. I can hear the conversations, see what happens, in my head, and it all seems so real to me.

I think you hit it on the head, wondering whether it's lovely or a little sad. I kept coming up against that problem while writing, complaining to people that, "They won't up for reeeeeaaallll," and stamping my foot a lot. I eventually had to accept that that was just the way it was going to have to be if I wanted to try to stick to inserting things into "canon as-is". There aren't a lot of windows for prolonged hookups! Sigh, sigh.

This is totally a season seven kind of story, though, because in my head, they do get there eventually. Hmm, maybe I'll write that story next.

Thanks for reading this, dude! :D

Manipulating canon is my favorite! I'm glad that you dig this. Also, I'm probably going to harass you with the next thing, so you know. Be on the lookout for that.

This is wonderful. I love the affection that is there in all the scenes even when that is not the point. Awesome.
