Real/Internet Life Bitching

Nov 03, 2006 05:46

I am so fucking tired of getting blown off. I'm beginning to wonder if I have 'SUCKER Overly Nice Person, Please Walk All Over' written across my chest or something. I have a project partner who is nice enough most of the time but consistantly shows up 15 to 25 minutes late when we're supposed to work together and someone on the internet who's owed ( Read more... )

Poor lovely. Nice people always get taken advantage of, don't they? Hell, it's why I'm in Wisconsin instead of Minneapolis right now.

Tell ya what; I've just finished 3 projects (2 are pictured in my last LJ post, actually), I only have one other to work on and I need to ahhve at least 2 so that when I get a block on one, I can work on the other.

Would you like a drawing/photomanip or a ficlet?

Huh. That's funny. I'm attending college in Wisconsin. ... it's very cold.

Wow. Thanks! That's really nice of you! Um... I don't exactly know what a photomanip is, but if I think I have it right, can you have a cat facing off with Stalin? Yes, I am unbearably weird. I just kind of want to see a communist go down to a feline right now.

I can definitely try! It might take me a day or two, but I'm sure I can manage something for you.

What part of Wisconsin? I'm in the Eau Claire area.

Thanks! A day or two is more than generous. I am, after all, am experienced wait-er by this point.

On the Illinois border. I have no idea where Eau Claire is.

I'm usually good up to six or so, because I know how real life commitments can be, but no way in hell any real life commitment can make you stand someone up for 15 months. I wrote 6,000+ words of fic for this person (in less than a month), who said they'd draw me a pic in return. But... no freaking dice.

Have you heard from this person recently? Because I know of a few sorta lethal likeprocrastination things that could keep someone off the net or off a project.

If you have, then, yeah, this person is an ass.

I talked to them three months ago, reminding them a year had passed. They have an LJ they post on every week or so. I could talk to them again, but... why bother?

I've finished the translation of your fic and you can see some comments here - http://www.diary.ru/~4Hokage/?comments&postid=16757007
People there liked the fic, they say, Sasuke is absolutely brilliant and.. really in character. They want to see more of your fics translated.
If there's more feedback, I'll certainly let you know)

Babelfish isn't the best way to translate, but what I got out of the comments is still really awesome. Thanks for translating it and giving me the link. Tis very cool.

Ugh, i've got an RL friend that i see every few months who owes me artwork for 2 birthdays, the most recent one being last year.

I really don't know what to say though, is it rude to remind her?

Hard to tell if it's rude or not. I guess it depends whether they're being rude. However, if you remind them and they act like a jackass about it, then they are the ass in that situation, not you. It's like when people make you feel guilty about reminding them they owe you money. The problem's on their end, not yours.

Okay, so I'm pretty sure that this '15 month' thing is me. And I'm pretty sure owning up to it on your lj will get my ass kicked, but hey. Man, I know. I'm a slow worker with inspiration issues and a procrastinator of a most serious nature, but I'm not ignoring you or what I owe you. Since the last time you reminded me I've been working on it. It's much too late to ask for patience or even forgiveness, but you will get it.
